The Lakota Media Player serves as a companion to the Lakota Language Consortium's textbooks and children's books. By pointing your phone at the page and tapping, you can hear native speakers pronounce the words. The audio guide section offers complete access to the textbook vocabulary through an intuitive tap and swipe interface.

• The Audio guide reveals the English translation with a simple tap.

Instructions:

The Lakota Media Player is designed for user-friendly navigation. When you open the app, explore the following modes:

Books:

• Tap download to access content for your Lakota book.
• Select a book and tap the book cover image to enter Camera mode.
• Choose the Audio Guide option for direct access to the Audio Guide.
• New books will be automatically added to your list as they become available.
• To update existing content, tap "Update Now" when prompted below your books.

Camera Mode:

• Tap the Camera icon to enable Camera mode.
• Use your phone's camera to scan the page.
• Explore each unit by looking at the first page or selecting from the list.
• Tap on embedded play buttons to hear Lakota words.

*Image recognition performance may vary depending on your device. If you encounter issues, consider using the Audio Guide for assistance with play buttons.

Audio Guide Mode:

• Select Audio Guide to access this mode.
• Choose a section from the list within the book.
• Tap any entry to hear the Lakota audio pronunciation.
• Swipe down to scroll through section content.
• If needed, tap "Show English" for immediate translations.
• Use Next and Previous buttons for navigation or return to the list by tapping either Audio Guide or List.
